hh yes football, such an amazing game to witness. And this year’s fifa 10 is as realistic as it gets. So, you spend countless hours on the ps3 playing hundreds of games of fifa on the telly, some you win and some you lose. However, none of these games compare to a PS3n match day. Everything becomes bigger. The quality of the play, the prematch tactics, the banter, the scheduling of the fixture. Why are they so great? While, its because they're so final. Going through everyone's head....this is it. 28 matches to fight for the title, win promotion, put your rep on the line, and yes even face dreaded relegation. The echoes in each players heads are the same......I'm who I say I am.

The echoes in each players heads are the same......I'm who I say I am.Emotions run deep as everything begins to take root. It's time once again to slay the dragon, put old demons to rest and reshape your league destiny. Why do we love football? Is it the team aspect of the sport, the fact that all 11 men must work together to be successful? Perhaps it's the gladiator mindset that players have when they take the field. Could it be the physicality of the game?
Maybe it was VillaAlex, PS3n's Muhammad Ali, who called soccer "the beautiful game." With the ball at his feet, it certainly is. The champ blends beauty and genius he is magical on the pitch?
Maybe its KURI Ferguson's love him or loathe him approach, that leaves us in states of hysterical laughter and/or fuming anger?
"Some people believe football is a matter of life and death. I'm very disappointed with that attitude. I can assure you it is much, much more important than that," Bill Shankly. Truer words have not been spoken. If you are like me, every single day you wake up and commit yourself to becoming a better player. The vision of a champion is someone bent over, drenched in sweat, to a point of exhaustion, when no one else is watching. Failure happens all the time. It happens every day in practice. What makes you better is how you react to it.
Pregame: You begin to feel a little tension in your chest as your heart begins to pound faster and faster. Your fingers begin to slowly push down on the control as you make your way into team managment. All the talking finally stops its just you and your opponant. Everything grows quiet. You pounder in your head potential outcomes - to win would be nice, can't afford a defeat, maybe get a draw here.
During: The talking stops. Its all business, anything goes, man vs man, skill vs will. The next 90 mins will have a major impact on the rest of the season. Focus is a must. All the time an effot spent playing, making changes to your game, tactics, will be put on display. The whole world is watching, with one question in mind, is the ability to produce a masterclass performace within you?
The dust settles and you are left in a pool of sweat, gasping hard for air.
The loser: Oh yes.....no one likes to lose. Losing is earth shattering, your whole virtual world is knocked right from under you. Within 12 minutes what would, could and should have been is no more. The only thing that is left is a score line - and unwelcome feelings of despair and failure. The pain of deafeat is often hard to swallow. This is often compounded with the usual pm from the winner which says, " unluck", " wp gg", " you should have gotten a draw". While good in nature, these pity prizes serve little in the way of removing the stain of defeat - a sting that may ruin a mood, day, or even sexual favors from "scott".
The winner: To the victor goes the spoils and the glory. To post a result in your favor is always exciting. To be on the winning side, gives you that needed boost to push on in a season and you may even find yourself on a 10-15 game winning streak, off of a great ps3n win. Just remeber for every rocky, their is a clager, with the "eye of the tiger" hungry and ready to claim what belongs to them.
Finally a Poem:
Match day:
Life is not an easy game.
It takes sweat, tears and much more;
In between whistles we chase for our fame;
On match day we give it our all,
When beauty and passion, egnite.
A lifeless pitch is brought to life;
In lines and circles we rule all day;
We gotta fulfill our promise on this match day,
The ball is our heartbeat,
It's gravity, rolls as earth, and spins as the sun;
In its motion we find our devotion;
the beauty that is match day,
In its requirement of love and faith we pray;
In this beautiful game of soccer we view with loving-hate,
The coward grows fever pitch, as the game of life begins to roll,
The woes of the world seem to fade away,
As we witness another match day.
Ohh yes, this game is the most beautiful among all.
It is not just about winning or fall;
In its every sec, if on match day, we don't give it all;
Can you feel it,
as it draws neaer, the whole world cathes football fever,
To the loser, emptiness of deaft and to the winner taste of victory,
When the whistle blows and its time to go,
Its only one thing left to say......... :ps3n:

Well done dude. I enjoyed that.
What about a monthly round up of the happenings in the leagues? Biggest match results, league table, odds etc. ?
That would be pretty awesome.

Enjoyed the read there....Yes it is a tense affair when you're preparing for a game or in the middle of it....Then its all over...shake hands and off you go...
Me...I'm not a champion wannabe...I'll never be there....for me and others like me its the banter and the cameraderie (sp?) that keeps us going....We'll lose more than we win (unless we're lucky)...we'll give it out best shot and maybe, just maybe we might surprise ourseleves and be nearer the top of the table than we thought we would...
